The latest research by Material Focus reveals that some five million single-use vapes are thrown away every week, with nearly three million being hoarded in cupboards every month. It also found that 70% of people threw away their disposables because they ‘didn’t know they could recycle them’. A report from specialist waste management firm Waste Experts concluded that ‘consumers don’t try to recycle these products because they do not know they should or have easy access to a recycling option’ – a challenge that is ‘not unique to vapes’.
